I had a bit of heartburn this morning, but the day was much more calm. Printing was fixed on Aptean’s side, which made me wonder how unique each of these environments could really be that they’re having to hand-configure this stuff. I did have to get around for some completely unrelated stuff, but overall it was pretty quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I met Summer at Ortega’s for a good lunch. She had been dealing with nerve pain in her legs for days, and said it was worse today. She made it through lunch and on to her meeting, though. My big win for the afternoon was cleaning up the letterhead and publishing it for everyone to use. I couldn’t believe how badly the others kept messing it up, and it made me wonder if they knew anything at all about publishing. All I knew was from recreational use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I stayed a little late to update the firewall, then made it home at a pretty relaxing pace. We beat Summer home by a little bit and cleaned up before she got home. Then the evening seemed to go by really quickly. She showered and ate her leftovers while I took Muad’Dib for a run. It didn’t feel too bad outside, but I think he was still too hot to run hard. We visited my parents for a bit while they watered plants, then headed toward home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About a block away from the house, Muad’Dib spotted something at the end of a driveway and lunged at it. He put it down without too much fuss, and that’s how I ended up with a baby squirrel. I couldn’t tell if it was dead or dying, or just stunned. It wouldn’t move at all, and was limp as I turned it over with my foot. I picked it up by the scruff of its neck and laid it in the nearby mailbox planter to do a quick google. It was completely limp except for a very slight shiver, so I decided to scoop it up and take it home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I walked into the bedroom with my hands cupped, and Summer immediately said, “no” until she saw what it was. Then she wanted to pet it. I knew it needed urgent care, so we found a shoebox and a towel, and I put him in the laundry room to stay warm for the night. We’ll see if he’s stiff in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
