Flavacolic

I tried out McDonald’s new app ordering system today and picked up a pico guacamole quarter pounder for free with the purchase of some fries. Overall it went well, and I think I like the system. The ordering process could have been better, but I think the promo code is what made it difficult.

Keno got on, and we played some doubles for quite a while. Once he left, I spent an embarrassing amount of time shopping deals on Amazon. I didn’t accomplish much else today. I did make some popcorn with the new Flavacol seasoning I picked up recently, and it turned out pretty good. I feel like my kernels are a bit stale or something though, and I need to make some clarified butter for the future.

Manufacturing Superbugs

School was cancelled due to plague. Custodial and maintenance were out fogging rooms with some kind of ionized saline solution as well as some other aerosol that seemed much more dangerous.

We got one touch panel hung before lunch at Fat Daddy’s out of town. I ate too much potato, but it was everyone else that was feeling worthless. Without any other group projects, we started drawing numbers to go home early. Josh wanted to get some food, so I met him at Stoby’s for a slice of possum pie.

Once home, we played some PUBG for a while, then I went to Summer’s for the evening. I was feeling a little wonky, so I took half a Nyquil to clear my sinuses for bed.

Early in; early out.

Velociraptured

I took half a dose of Nyquil last night, and it killed my morning. I was groggy all the way through lunch. When I got to the shop, Sara was the only one there, so I assumed Raptor Jesus had come to take everyone else away. Eventually some others showed up, and we went to Wendy’s.

After work, I went to Summer’s for a little while before coming home for some PUBG with Clint and Jack.

We’ve had so many students and staff out on sick leave that they’ve decided to cancel school tomorrow, but I still have to go in. I guess that gives us all day to hang another touch panel.

Come on, weekend.

Let’s Get Clinical

Summer was feeling much worse this morning, so I took half of a sick day to take her to the clinic. The best guess is a herniated disc in her lower back, so she got loaded up on drugs and we picked up some Frisco burgers.

I stuck with her until after lunch, then I got a little work done before heading back to her house in the evening. She was feeling much better on the meds, so we warmed up some leftovers for dinner and chilled on the couch for the rest of the evening.

Have I been here before?

Remember Your Training

Work went by pretty quickly today. I got my new touch panels functional at the junior high, including the Flappy Bird Android Easter egg, and fixed my printer at Oakland. Zach and I went to Wendy’s for lunch, and then I went back to Oakland to retrain employees on how to access their own software because it’s been too long since they last used it, even though the last time it even crossed my mind was when I trained them how to access it last year. At this point it’s not even memory. It’s a lack of any effort entirely.

After work I went to visit a still flu-ridden Summer. I went and picked up some Sumo for dinner, then put her to bed and came home for bed myself. With any luck, I’ll avoid this whole sickness thing entirely. I’m usually pretty good at keeping my symptoms minimalized.

Tuesday’s are usually pretty slow for me anyway.

Shattered Expectations

With no school today, we took the opportunity to install a bunch of touch panels. My group got four done, but not without some attitude. The others got three in a greater length of time but with a longer drive. I wanted to be proud.

Jason, Allen, and I went to Big Red to try them out again for lunch. There was only one other table taken when we got there, so we had high hopes for speed of service. I got a 6-piece chicken strip dinner that I thought was pretty good. The strips were pretty large, and I probably would have gotten the 3-piece if I had known. With that said, one of my pieces was less than a third the size of the rest of them. I thought maybe they had given me two small ones, but they seriously gave it to me as one of my six, which really irked me. I felt too fat to complain about it there, but if it had been me cooking, I would have thrown that piece of chicken away before serving it to someone as a whole strip. It was embarrassingly small.

Ben let us go half an hour early, but I got on a roll with a printer issue and didn’t leave until later anyway. I stopped by my parents’ to clean up too much fish soup, then went to Summer’s to visit her miserably sick self. All four of them were there for a change, and we watched Serenity until the girls went to bed. I stood up at one point, forgetting I had put my phone in my lap, and dropped it face-down onto the hardwood floor. The tempered glass screen protector shattered in the bottom right corner and popped off the phone. Fortunately I didn’t get any scratches or anything else on the phone, and I had a spare at home. If the price goes down and I need another one, I’ll likely go for one with a UV-cured LOCA, because I go hard like that.

I guess it’s going around…

The Whole Famn Damily

The kids were all out today, so once Summer got done at the gym, I headed up to her place. My sister texted me shortly after I got there and invited me out to lunch with the family, so without any other plans, we decided to join them. For having everyone along, even Bác Vân, it was relatively uneventful. I ate too much, everyone got to meet everyone else, and nobody got stabbed or mortally wounded.

I was completely useless by the time we walked out of there, so Summer and I came back to my house and watched Bo Burnham’s what. on YouTube. When that was done, we watched some British panel comedies until it was time to head back to her place to receive the kids. I got to meet Nick, and we all lazed around until I needed to head home to sleep before work tomorrow.

Martin Luther King Jr. is an also-ran if only some staff gets the day off.

To live would be an awfully big adventure

I woke up with another huge headache this morning, then nursed a small one the rest of the day. When I finally got out of bed close to noon, I started playing PUBG with Clint. Most of our games were pretty quick, not getting very far, but they were all relaxing and fun. Keno joined us for a few rounds after a while until I had to get showered.

When Summer got home from her quiz bowl tournament, I headed up there and took us out to La Huerta for dinner. It went pretty well, and the molcajete was pretty tasty. I’ve had better, and their bowl was oddly porous, but it was still really good. Afterward, we all piled onto the couch and watched Hook until one by one they each passed out on top of me. Except Eaddie, who seems to have outlasted even me.

You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming?

Bodies Needed

We didn’t have much in the way of group work today. I spent most of the day trying to fix a printer issue introduced by the people that we pay to fix our printers. I’m still at a loss, and it’s more than a little frustrating.

A group of us went to Western Sizzlin for lunch, and it was definitely one of my better visits there. All of the food was fresh and not super dried out. I ate myself sick, and then threw in an ice cream cone for good measure.

In between trying to close out some of my work orders, I got a text that bodies were needed to help unload touch panels at the shop. We got two and a half pallets worth in, and fortunately not all of them are spoken-for.

After work, I came home and played a couple rounds of PUBG before heading to Summer’s for the evening. We watched Guardians of the Galaxy, and decided that we should run the full Marvel Cinematic Universe gauntlet soon.

I have a strict routine.

TellPopeyes

It was so warm again today. I spent most of the day at the shop working on a bunch of iPads. Ben, Sara, and I went to Brick Oven for lunch, and I got a big ol’ Big Italy. I can’t not order a large one of those things. They’re so delicious.

After work, I went to my parents’ house for some more fish soup, then made a stop at the junior high to take care of a couple things, and finally a quick jaunt to Summer’s before heading home to do a load of laundry for tomorrow. Once that was started, I filled out a survey for yesterday’s visit to Popeye’s, and maybe 10 minutes later I received a phone call from this evening’s shift manager. I guess I really ripped them with my comments, but I’m just so tired of coworkers dragging me there when it’s such lame service. The food’s usually pretty decent, but I shouldn’t have to ask if they have fried chicken currently available at a fried chicken restaurant. That’s retarded.

I finished the evening with a different kind of chicken dinner in PUBG with Clint, Jack, and Aaron. Clint was downed, but otherwise we all made it out alive, and it was awesome.

Only in America could a restaurant advertise a low calorie drink using a banner that says “<450 CALORIES.”
