This morning I took my mom to my aunt's house so they could go
to Tunica today. I got to school and tried to find Mitch Graham
so I could get another Bawls. I found him right before first period,
so I had a little comfort as I took a huge English test followed
by a second period calculus test. Right before second period I
saw Mitch again and had a breakdown in the hallway trying to get
him to sell me more Bawls. He said I was addicted and that he
wouldn't sell me any more today. Soon enough I'll be rich, though,
and I'll buy crates upon crates of the stuff. I spent an hour
or so in the darkroom with Brandon Vaughn while he made some prints
and I developed my pictures from the swim meet. After that I went
around to several different classes just to see what everyone
was up to. After school, my sister got a ride home with her friend
Andrea, so I got to come home by my very own self. The infamous
Rocky, with no last name, ran up to me in the parking lot and
pulled out some glass chalk. He started to write something on
my back windshield, but I pulled away before he could get any
more than "got" written. After school I got to rest
a little, but I still had about a dozen things to do, so I'm keeping
busy.

1-30-01
School was fairly busy today. I got to rest a little bit more,
but I still have a lot of work coming up this week and next. With
a little luck I might be able to raise my GPA over a 4.0 this
semester with AP calculus. So far I'm doing alright, but it seems
like the busiest times in each of my classes come around at the
exact same time. I could really use a spring break or two right
about now. I did receive a bit of happiness this morning though,
when Mitch Graham showed me that he had brought some Bawls
to school. I bought a bottle from him because I've been wanting
to try one for quite some time now. Not only did it taste quite
good, but the thing was loaded with caffeine. I did a little research,
and there are 80 mgs of caffeine in each little 10 oz. bottle.
I was set for the day after that bottle, although I was left wanting
more after I had drained the bottle. It was quite fun going around
the school and showing people my Bawls. At lunch I left my normal
group, who had for some reason been split into two different tables,
and went to sit with my geek friends with Bawls. After school
I got a call from our friendly, neighborhood military group. He
wanted me to join the army, and I wanted him to visit my website.
Don't think I'm going crazy with my site though. I wouldn't have
said anything about it if he hadn't asked first. It never helps
to have a little self-promotion though. It's time for bed. I have
a big English test tomorrow. I need to stay up and study. I need
Bawls.

1-29-01
My cough is still here. It's taken up permanent residence in
my body. I've been packing cough drops to take with me everywhere
I go. Classes were fairly busy today, and this week looks like
it's going to be about as busy as the last one. I really need
a spring break right about now. Lunch was fairly quiet, and nobody
seemed to want to talk to me at the table, so after I finished
eating I wondered out towards the commons to see some of my other
friends. I saw Cassie Hilgerson sitting out by the windows, so
I just followed her around for the rest of lunch, and then walked
her to class on the way down to journalism. Nobody did much in
there today because they were all tired from working last week.
After school I went upstairs and talked to Kerryn Johns for a
little while, and then walked out to the front of the building
with Cassie. My sister came along, and I guess they've made up
now and don't hate each other. My sister said they sat together
on the bus on the way home on their forensics trip. I don't know
what happened between them, but I'm glad I didn't get any blood
on my clothes today. I gave Thomas Hollingsworth a ride to his
dad's store, and then came home. I tweaked a couple things on
my computer so all of my programs have alpha blending. It's kind
of neat to have transparent windows. Off the topic of, well, everything
- I think a good goal for the future of this site is perhaps less
text and more images. I'll worry about that when I have time though.

1-28-01
I'm feeling a bit better today. My cough is starting to go away,
but I've still got a bit of a tickle in my throat. I did very
little today other than watch TV and play a little computer. Jared
Fitzgibbon and I played a nice little game of Starcraft against
quite a few computer opponents. He's gotten quite good at the
game, while I'm probably still very low in skill level. Later
in the evening, a few people stopped by to see my sister. Sam
Bishop and Lyadonna Haddar were the only two that I heard for
sure, but I assume David Benefield was with them just as they
were together yesterday evening. I stayed hidden in my room doing
physics homework, so nobody came in to bother me. After a couple
hours of staring at the worksheet blankly, I've finally figured
out how the universe works. Now if I could only figure out how
to get my stupid TI-Graph Link to work so I could send some nice
little programs to my calculator.

If anyone has a secret family recipe for a magical serum that
will rid a person of a cough, please feel free to share this holy
recipe with yours truly. I found a little cup full of cough drops,
so I've been taking them five at a time trying to calm my throat.
I got up really early this morning, I assume because of how much
I napped before I actually went to bed. I was supposed to go to
the Tech pool to take pictures of a swim meet for yearbook. It
was an interesting experience, but I started to get a little bored
during the diving. After I finished there, I came home where I
spent the rest of the day playing on the computer and watching
TV. Mallory McKinney called and we talked for quite a while. Later
on in the evening, Sam Bishop, David Benefield, and Lyadonna Haddar
dropped by to see my sister, but they all wound up hanging out
in my room. After a while they went home and I resumed my night
of computer and TV.

1-26-01
I'm still not feeling any better today. It's starting to be quite
painful for me to cough. I got to school quite late today after
a little trouble I had getting out of the house. I was walking
to my class just as the tardy bell rang. My English teacher, Mrs.
Hubbard, was out watching the halls, so I followed her to the
classroom after the bell rang. She saw me and let me into the
room, but just as I had started setting my stuff down at my desk,
she called me back up and gave me a note to go down to the journalism
room. Lynn Wink apparently wanted me to skip my first period class
to work on my EAST Lab spread, so I went down there to work. The
rest of the day went by as usual. Now that I've got this EAST
Lab deadline off of my back, things should ease up a bit. I'll
have a ton of stuff to do for other people next week for the next
deadline, but now I have a weekend to relax a bit. After school
my dad brought me some medicine, so I took a shot of NyQuil that
put me down for a while. Now I just need some rest before I have
to go take pictures of the high school's swim meet tomorrow morning.
|
1-25-01
Today was a pretty slow, yet busy day. I spent about 2 and a
half hours in the darkroom making prints for my EAST Lab spread.
Then I stayed after school for a couple hours to write up my EAST
Lab story. Nothing happened after I got home. I had a bad cough,
so I didn't feel like doing much. I laid in bed, watched TV, and
napped for a little while. I'm getting low on medicine, which
doesn't seem to help anyway, but I'm hoping I'll be rid of this
cough within the next couple of days. I tried to get my TI Graph
Link to work so I could put some programs on my calculator, but
no matter how hard I tried, it refused to do anything. I'm glad
tomorrow's Friday so I can finally have a weekend off.
|
1-24-01
I felt better when I woke up this morning. I had a temperature
of 100.2º, which I'm sure was quite mild compared to what
I had yesterday, so I decided to go to school today without a
doubt. I still had a bad cough and was really congested, so I
couldn't breathe well. Luckily, most of my classes just had slow
days with little work. Before I got to school, I had to drop my
dad off at the Wal-Mart parking lot to catch the bus to Tunica.
He had to take my mom's purse to her since she forgot it at home.
Nothing really special happened all day. After school my sister
told me she had a ride to school, so I walked Rachel Trusty out
to her car and talked for a little while, and then came home myself.
I took my sister to her private flute lessons, and then we went
to my aunt's house to eat the food she had cooked for the Chinese
New Year. Hopefully I'll be feeling a lot better tomorrow so I
can finish up my work on the yearbook.
|
1-23-01
I was feeling worse this morning than I was yesterday. I thought
about not going to school, but I figured I had too much stuff
that I had to do to be missing any. I could barely walk to each
of my classes because I was so weak. Obviously I didn't get any
work done anyway, so there was really no point in being there.
I brought my yearbook stuff home to work on, but after I got home
all I did was sleep. I finally got up enough strength to eat something
and watch a little TV, but I'm still exhausted. Tomorrow I'll
probably feel quite a bit better, but I won't have the work I
was supposed to do tonight because I wasn't feeling well. C'est
la vie.
|
1-22-01
I spent all of today with a bad cough. I'm getting sick, and
it's not fun. I did have a pretty good day though. My classes
were alright, and I had some yummy stuff for lunch. After I finished
eating I walked around to the commons to see Cassie Hilgerson.
I hadn't talked to her in four or five days, so I thought I'd
go see how she was doing. I spent some time in the darkroom with
Brandon Vaughn, making some last minute prints for people. I still
need to write a couple stories to have in for the deadline on
Friday. After school I went upstairs and gave Rachel Trusty a
big hug because she wasn't feeling well again. She's been really
depressed over something, but she never feels like talking to
me about it, so all I can do is just hope everything turns out
alright for her. She didn't really want me around much after I
hugged her, so I went to talk to Cassie again for a bit. When
Rachel was ready to head home, she stopped by for a second as
if she wanted me to come along with her. As I walked her out to
her car, neither of us said much of anything, but I think all
she really needed was a friend by her side. After that, I went
on home myself and watched some TV in my room. That's about all
I felt like doing since I'm so sick. A few people visited the
Cow Cam to watch me, as I'm sure I was very entertaining just
laying there in bed with a cough and a headache. Mallory McKinney
called and we talked for a while. That was probably the longest
call I've ever had on my new phone, and we didn't even talk for
that long. I just don't use my phone that much. I've worn myself
out today. I think now all I really need is some good old fashioned
sleep.
|
1-21-01
My alarm must not have gone off this morning, because I didn't
get up as early as I wanted to. When I did get up, I had a headache,
so I didn't really feel like going into school to work on the
yearbook. My three spreads are due this week, so I've got to pick
out some pictures and get a lot of work done. Jared Fitzgibbon
said he got a new TV, so he sold me his old one. I can finally
watch TV in my own room instead of having to go out into the living
room. I'll never leave now. My parents were surprised because
I didn't tell them I was going to get it. My mom just walked into
my room and saw it up on my desk. I'm happy with it though, and
I'll be even happier when I get the thing hooked up to my computer
so I can have sound through my nice speaker system. After that,
Sarah Hindsman called asking if I could go fix her computer for
her. Somehow some drivers got removed and she couldn't even boot
up Windows. I fixed that and then came home to watch some more
TV. I'm not feeling well now, but I hope I'll be feeling well
enough to go to school all this week. I've got too much stuff
to do for the yearbook. You'll notice (or maybe you won't) that
the Cow-Patty Link of the Week has not been updated today. Due
to the lack of interest in the page, I've decided to discontinue
the project for the time being. It may return at a later date,
but I simply don't have time to look for really bad sites to put
on it every week, and nobody ever submits any. The Cow Cam seems
to be a big hit though, so at least there's something interesting
on this page.
|
1-20-01
I woke up this morning when Lynne Wink called to request my presence
at the school to work on the yearbook. She still thinks I never
do any work in there. I got quite a bit of work done until she
said we had to leave, so I came home. Dad had picked our cat back
up from the veterinarian, minus the gender indicator. I guess
there'll be no kittens around here. After a little while, everyone
went to my sister's band concert while I opted to stay home. When
they got back, they brought along my mom's brother and his wife
from Florida. I had no idea they were coming to town, so it was
quite a surprise to me. Then everyone left to go to my aunt's
house to eat. I stayed behind for a little while to finish up
a game before I left. We had a pretty good time talking about
random, unimportant topics like politics. After a few hours there,
my sister called us with the sound of many voices in the background.
My parents sent me back home to keep an eye on her. When I got
home, she had 4 guys, two of which I had never seen before in
my life, and a girlfriend over. I called my parents back at my
aunt's house, and my mom made the two guys I had never seen before
leave. I was fairly satisfied, at least having the strangers out
of my house. I went back to my room to play a game. My sister
came in and said they were trying to watch a movie and shut my
door. After a bit of playing, my game suddenly crashed and just
disappeared. I decided it was time for a break, so I went out
to discover my sister and Sam Bishop laying on the couch in the
front room with the lights dimmed and the radio on. I didn't actually
see her friend Lyadonna or my friend David Benefield, but I assumed
they were hidden under the blanket on the floor right in front
of the couch my sister was on. After that nice little scare, I
went and got a drink of water (or rather threw it on my face hoping
I was just having a bad dream) and went back to my room. Later,
my friend Ellen Hurd from Pennsylvania messaged me and told me
she was watching me on the Cow Cam. After making a few faces at
her, I went to take a shower. My hand is numb, I'm tired, I played
a lot of Quake III Arena and MDK2, I have to go to school again
tomorrow to work on the yearbook, and I'm in the mood to whip
out a very large gun and scare away some really stupid people.

1-19-01
I had a fairly easy day today, but most of the day during school
wasn't fun. I spent a couple hours in the darkroom again and got
a bunch of film and pictures developed. After school I walked
and talked with Kerryn Johns down to her Mrs. LaFevers's room
so she could make up a test. After that I went back up and saw
Rachel Trusty looking quite the opposite of happy. I didn't say
much to her because she was talking to Bethany Raines. I just
sat and waited several minutes until she was done and then walked
her out to her car. Later in the evening I went and met Mallory
McKinney at the basketball game to take pictures for the yearbook.
After that she mentioned something about social events, which
I'm having slightly mixed feelings about. When she left, I went
to meet Sarah Conley at the coffee shop to listen to Michael Levesque
sing again. I sat with Sarah and her little friend Megan Levesque,
Michael's daughter. Several people came by while we were there,
including but not limited to Christi Bauer, Ashley Hardin, Eric
Moore, Nikki Barr, Brandon Vaughn, Laura Post, Eliesha Sears,
and Eric Savoie. Others came by, but I didn't really know them
that well. Ashley came and sat in my lap a couple times, so I
just sat back and pretended I knew what I was doing. After Michael
Levesque finished, Sarah, Megan, and I went to take Ashley home,
and then the three of us that remained went to Sarah's house for
a little while to hang out. We played around and had some fun,
and then I decided it was time to go home. Now that the caffeine's
worn off, I think I'll go sleep for a couple days.
|
1-18-01
Today was an average day. I spent a couple hours in the darkroom
making prints and developing a couple rolls I had. I went to Mr.
Lonon's class for a little while 6th period to return a thermometer
I had borrowed the period before, and talked to Rachel Trusty
for a little while. I got her to put her hair up with a short
length of Cat-5 cable I had. It didn't work as well as the pencils
she usually uses because it was too flimsy, but it was still pretty
cool. After school I went upstairs to hang out a little while
before I went home. Cassie Hilgerson walked right by me and totally
blew me off, so I guess I'll just leave her alone for a couple
days. I guess she hasn't been feeling well for some reason. After
I got home I did a little work on my page to make the Cow Cam
better. After talking with Jared Fitzgibbon for a while, we said
a few things that were worthy of being immortalized on the Funny
Cud page. This is only a mere beginning of what is soon to come!
|
1-17-01
I took my mom to the Wal-Mart parking lot this morning so she
could go to Tunica. Getting from there to the school was utter
hell, but luckily I made it into my classroom right before the
tardy bell rang. The rest of the day went on as usual. I mixed
some chemicals for the darkroom. After school I talked a bit with
Rachel Trusty. After I got home I did a little work on my page.
As you can see, I've added the two new links to your left: "Cow
Cam" and "Funny Cud." The Cow Cam is fairly self-explanatory.
I've set up my web cam to take a picture every 5 seconds and post
it online. The Cow Cam page will refresh itself every 5 seconds,
so you can sit back and watch what I'm up to at any moment of
the day that my computer's on. Funny Cud is quite a different
idea, but should also turn out to be a nice addition to the site
very soon. I've decided that I have many interesting conversations
with a lot of people. Many interesting, funny, and whacky things
are said at times, so I'm going to start the Funny Cud page to
document the most interesting lines from these conversations.
You'll get the idea once everything's set up right. The possibilities
are endless.

1-16-01
We got out a little slow this morning, but I made it to class
on time. Things went on as usual in every class. We had water
again by the end of the day, so I'll be mixing chemicals for the
darkroom tomorrow so we can develop our film again. I went to
Mr. Murdock's Spanish class a couple times to see what he was
up to. On my way out the second time, some girl whose name escapes
me (or rather - whose name I never knew in the first place) mentioned
seeing my page and said she liked it. I'm getting more and more
famous every day. This is so cool! After that I went with Kerryn
Johns to gather some quotes from the art class for yearbook. She's
not even on the staff, but she was helping Janine Randles get
her work done. I stayed in the art class and talked to Jared Fitzgibbon
and Rachel Trusty until the end of the period. Near the end of
6th period I went to see Cassie Hilgerson. We sat and talked for
a little while in her classroom, and then went to check out the
darkroom with its new hole in the wall. Apparently they needed
to get to some water pipes in there. Then I walked her on upstairs
towards her next class. On the way up, I saw Matt Duffield and
immediately had to hit his Dr. Pepper bottle with my Sprite bottle.
He told me to write about that in today's log, so there it is
in all its glory. After school I met up with Cassie again and
talked for a little while before I headed home myself. I didn't
do much after school, although I did get a new program working
to upload pictures from my web cam every 5 seconds. Pretty soon
I'll have a page up for it, which should be pretty cool. I had
probably five or six different people watching me at one time.
It was pretty cool. I can only imagine how dumb I must look in
some of those pictures. Stay tuned for some more good ideas. I'll
be adding a couple more features to the site within the next couple
of weeks. The Cow has only just begun to Gallop!

1-15-01
I woke up this morning when some saleslady called for my parents.
I had planned to wake up earlier, but someone came in and turned
down my music that I had set for my alarm. After waking up late,
I got ready and went out to see that my dad had taken my car to
work. Extremely disliking the idea of driving the mini-van around,
I decided to go switch cars with my dad. Then I went and spent
all afternoon at the high school working on the yearbook. We still
didn't have running water, but we're hoping to have some by tomorrow
so we can develop film. After everyone finished there I stopped
by Sarah Conley's house to fix her computer. For some reason both
of her CD ROMs had disappeared. It didn't take too long to fix
it, so then I went to Whattaburger to get a strawberry shake since
I hadn't had anything else all afternoon and I was going on an
empty stomach. Coming down my street to go home, I saw my parents
leaving somewhere, so I raced to catch up with them and find out
where they were going. They both griped at me for switching cars,
and then we went home to drop off the Mustang and took a family
trip to Wal-Mart. I went to Staples and got my $10 back for the
coupon I had for my Intellimouse Explorer. We went shopping around
for crap and then came home. After dinner I got on and Susi LeMaire
got on ICQ and griped at me for a little while about some really
dumb stuff. That was the extent of my day. Maybe school tomorrow
will brighten up my week.........don't look at me like I'm a fool,
darnit.

1-14-01
I looked out this morning and the sun was gone. I turned on some
music to start my day. I lost myself in a familiar song. I closed
my eyes and I slipped away. Today was my dad's magic club meeting
in Fort Smith. My parents, sister, and her friend Lyadonna were
all gone for the whole day. Around 2:00 I called Kerryn Johns
to make sure she was awake and then went over to her house to
help her with some algebra. She has been really sick for the past
week, so she had a lot of makeup work to do. I spent all afternoon
there with her, and actually had quite a bit of fun. After we
finished that, we both decided to come back to my place to watch
a movie and just hang out. After we finished the movie, she went
back on home and I spent the rest of the night laying around the
house half asleep. The new Cow-Patty Link of the Week is up, but
I don't know why. The only person that ever goes to that page
is Sarah Conley. You'll notice that for almost every week, she's
the only one that has voted on any of the links. Maybe I'll scrap
that page and try to come up with something else cool to do. Any
ideas are welcome.

1-13-01
I woke up late today. I got to the recreation hall at around
noon instead of 7 or 8 like I had originally planned. After I
woke up I found out I had to take my dad to the Wal-Mart parking
lot so he could get the other car. While I was there, I picked
up some really good headphones that I could use at the tournament.
After I got to the recreation hall, I got things set up ready
to play. My computer's performance seemed really good for some
reason, so I was proud of it. Just for fun, we decided to have
a 5 on 5 game of Counterstrike with people against the staff of
the tournament. For a prize, the winners could get $50 to split
up among the players, or 128 megs of RAM for one of their computers.
Since we did that, the third place prize for the Quake III tournament
was taken away. Unfortunately, we lost the Counterstrike match.
Later when we actually played Quake III Arena, I fought my way
through pretty well. I would up in third place, of all things.
I didn't get a prize, but a bit earlier I had won a card cooler
for a door prize. In the end, Michael Hotz won first place and
chose $100 over a GeForce 2 and then won an Intellimouse Explorer
for a door prize, Jason Lee won second place with a Sound Blaster
Live! X-Gamer, and I made third with nothing. When everything
was all done and we were packing up, I decided that since I didn't
have any use for the card cooler, I'd just give it back to Thomas
Hollingsworth. In exchange, and plus the fact that I sort of got
cheated out of a third place prize, he said he would get me another
Intellimouse Explorer. I helped clean things up a little bit and
then headed home where I continued to wrestle with my computer
for a while trying to get any of my video cards' drivers to work.
Neither my Rage Pro Turbo or Voodoo3 2000 will work correctly
for some reason. I'm too tired to continue working on anything
now though. It'll be hard enough just finding a new Cow-Patty
Link of the Week since nobody ever submits any to me. Not to invoke
any feelings of guilt, but if any of you faithful visitors ever
run into some really badly made sites, or sites with really horrible
content, I would greatly appreciate it if you would submit those
links to me.

1-12-01
Nothing special happened today during school. They got some big
water bottles with little cone cups out all around the halls now
since we haven't had running water in most of the school since
last week. Classes were taken pretty easily. Janine Randles was
feeling a bit better, so she showed up again today. After school
I tried to fix my computer since ever time I reboot it, it starts
with 16 colors in 640x480. I still haven't been able to figure
out what's wrong with it. Jared Fitzgibbon got a new motherboard,
so his replacement video card is working. He got quite upset when
he had problems with it, but everything seems to be working now.
His new motherboard doesn't have any ISA slots, so he borrowed
my newer Turtle Beach PCI sound card since I have a new Sound
Blaster Live! Platinum. I have my Voodoo back, so I'm happy about
that. I took my new computer on over to the building where the
Quake III Arena tournament will be. I helped set things up some
and had a great time. I'll be going back early tomorrow to get
in some practice before I actually have to play. Hopefully I'll
either win a cool door prize or maybe even a tournament prize.
Wish me luck!

I don't have much to say about today. I can only think of one
exciting thing that happened. I was wandering around looking for
stuff to take pictures of during my journalism period. Janine
Randles wasn't feeling well, so when I saw her starting to walk
down the hall to go do some stuff, she asked me to go with her
in case she got too weak to walk. We got upstairs fine, but after
a little while she could barely walk. After a little while she
thought she was feeling a little better, so she wanted to try
to walk on her own. I stood back a bit and she had a little fall.
I caught her about halfway down, but she still wasn't feeling
well. She couldn't walk and she said she felt like she twisted
her ankle or something. We were right outside the EAST Lab, so
when Mrs. Hill saw us out there she got a couple rolling chairs
from the lab and we rolled Janine out to the front office since
the nurse wasn't there. I spent the rest of that period and about
half of the next period with her out in front of the main office.
Eventually the evil Mrs. Robinson came out and made us move, despite
the fact that Janine had to be rolled around in a freaking chair.
She moved her to the empty nurse's room to lay down and told me
to get back to class, completely ignoring the fact that I had
study hall and Mrs. Little knew where I was. I found out what
materials Janine would need from her locker and went to get them
for her. On my way back up to give her stuff to her, I saw her
attempting to walk along with someone who had come to pick her
up. She gave me a hug and then headed on home. The next period
I had a physics test and then it was time to go home. Nothing
happened after school. I just came home and got on my computer.
Thomas Hollingsworth called me while I was reading a couple sections
from my history book. We talked about what was going on about
the Quake III Arena tournament this Saturday. I'll be going sometime
tomorrow just to help them set things up. For such an empty day,
I sure have written a lot!

1-10-01
Today went by fairly easily. We didn't really do much work in
any classes. I brought my new Intellimouse Explorer, Glowbie,
to school with me. I didn't want to leave her at home all by herself
since she's only a day old. I tried to use her in the EAST Lab
at school, but she wouldn't light up for some reason. She did
work on the nasty iMacs in the journalism room though. The juniors
were gone to future fest today, so the halls were extremely clear
and easy to navigate through, although I did miss seeing a few
of my friends. The whole school just seemed kind of empty. I found
out I have three different two page spreads to do for the yearbook
in two weeks. I've got two computer related, and one for foreign
languages. This will be a lot of fun, because not only will I
have to make those three spreads, but I'll also have to take pictures
for myself and just about everyone else that's doing a spread
for this deadline. I'm going to be insanely busy for the next
couple weeks. In physics during 7th period, we all sat around
and talked about different things. We had a great time, but we
didn't get to review much. After school I went to the journalism
room to talk to Mrs. Little for a little while. After that I went
upstairs and saw Chris Sanderock who had come to visit Rachel
Trusty. I went up and sat on the stage with them and we talked
for a little while. I had to wait for my mom to come pick me up
at 4:00 since she's got training for tax season all week, and
my parents have taken control of the cars. Later in the evening,
a couple of my faithful fans tried to contact me a few times on
AOL Instant Messenger. One finally got a hold of me, and we had
a nice little chat for a while. After that I succeeded in royally
screwing up my computer. I was stuck with 16 colors at 640x480
for a very long time. I eventually got some drivers working well
enough that I'm back to 32 bit color at 1024x768. Now I'm exhausted
from the day. I need an early retirement plan.

Today was a slow day. I just wanted to crawl into a very deep,
dark hole and sleep for a very long time. I did my best to finish
all the work that was given to me so I wouldn't have homework.
Overall everything went alright, but I still wasn't feeling great,
and was completely and utterly exhausted. After school I came
home for a while and called Staples to see if they had gotten
any Microsoft Intellimouse Explorers in. The lady I talked to
said they still didn't have any. A little while later, Sarah Hindsman
and Eric Duerr came over for a little while to check out some
of my cool computer stuff. I loaned Sarah a CD, and then they
were off. After dinner I went to the high school to take pictures
of the basketball game. I saw Mallory McKinney, who was there
to take a few practice shots. I guess she took photography last
semester and is an aid or something this semester. After that
little bit-o-fun, I decided to go to Staples or Wal-Mart to see
what they had in the way of headphones. I want something better
than the cheap ones I've got around the house for the Russellville
Quake 3 Arena Tournament this Saturday. I didn't get any headphones,
but I did see a single Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer on the
shelf. I had forgotten my $10 off coupon at home, but the lady
said I could bring the receipt back sometime with the coupon and
I would get a refund. I guess this mouse had been returned by
someone else, but it works fine for me. Her name is Glowbie. She's
the sweetest little mouse I've ever had. I love her.

Aside from a few things, today was a fairly laid back day for
me. I went to classes, did some work, and then came home. Makeup
work from Friday wasn't a problem. I went around the school taking
some pictures for yearbook during 5th period, and then spent most
of 6th just relaxing in the journalism room. I got to wander around
VoTech for a bit to take some pictures for Olin Rankin's spread
in the yearbook. Physics was fun, and then after school I ran
around to talk to some different people. On the way out I saw
Ryan Roberts standing there talking to a few people. I stopped
to shake hands, but then took off again after Cassie Hilgerson,
who was wandering around by herself. We talked for a little bit,
and then I walked out to the parking lot where Rachel Trusty was
just getting into her car. We talked for a couple minutes before
my mom got there to pick me up, and then I went home. I wasted
most of the evening just relaxing, but after dinner I went to
Staples with my dad to get a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer.
They still didn't have any in stock, so I was a bit upset. We
stopped by Kroger on the way home, so we didn't come home completely
empty-handed I guess. While I was gone, apparently one of my old
site visitors had tried to message me. Hopefully next time we'll
get to actually talk some. I worked on some homework until Sarah
Conley came on and we had a little squabble. It wasn't a bad squabble
in my opinion, but a squabble of any type is never good. I'm not
completely sure what to do now, but to set the record straight
I'm not upset at her over anything. I'm simply trying to sift
out what I do know from what I think I know. With any luck, all
will be well soon.

Today was an interesting day, and in certain ways it's one that
I hope I'll soon forget. Sarah Conley, Susi LeMaire, and I all
had a nice little squabble. It was all quite stupid, but now I'm
not sure who I can trust. All people are stupid to a degree. It's
just that some people are rated at a higher magnitude of stupidity
than others. Apart from all the negativity, a couple good things
actually did happen today. Yesterday I told Jeff Green that I
saw Rachel Trusty driving down the road head-banging to Marilyn
Manson. He told her what I said, so she finally added me to her
MSN Instant Messenger list. Today was the first time in a very
long time that I had talked to her away from school. She was quite
comforting during my battle with Sarah and Susi. I also did a
little looking for a new Cow-Patty Link of the week. I didn't
feel like doing a lot of searching, so this week's link isn't
nearly as bad as some of the others I've had. Maybe if some of
my visitors would start submitting sites I wouldn't have to look
so hard for bad sites by myself. Just a thought. You can get to
the submission form from the CP-LOTW page. If you don't feel like
filling out the form, feel free to contact me via any of the many
methods on the Contact page. That's about all I have for today.
Bless you all, and may your lives never be as strangely complicated
as mine seems to be.

I slept late today, and it felt good. I was way too tired from
our three day school week. I sat around for most of the day. My
dad said he saw an old computer at the high school that he thought
they were going to throw out, but when he told me they were inside
I figured it was stuff they were going to auction off, so we didn't
even go in. After that we were going to go to Wal-Mart, but the
place was simply too full. We didn't feel like finding a place
to park and then fighting through the crowds of people. It's sad
that Wal-Mart is the cool place to hang out on Saturdays. On the
way home I saw Rachel Trusty driving down the opposite direction.
I have no idea where she was headed, and she never talks to me
online any more, so I didn't get to ask. Later in the afternoon
Susi LeMaire called me to tell me she was in town, but then said
I couldn't go see her, so I just kind of sat and thought about
that for a while. I don't know why she bothered to call me in
the first place if all she had to say was that she was in town.
Later in the evening Nikki Holbrook, Christi Bauer, and I were
going to go out just to hang out and get out of the house. Christi
had another friend along with her, but she decided she didn't
want to stick around for long, so she left with Christi and a
couple other guys to go get her car at McDonald's. Nikki and I
sat in Higher Grounds for a while waiting for them, and when they
finally got back they all decided to split up and go along their
way. I started to go home, but then decided to go back to Higher
Grounds to hang out with Sarah Conley and some other friends I
saw in there. Kendon Lawrence was playing there in a band, so
we all sat in the back listening to them. It was great fun. After
that, Sarah, Erin Ashley, and I decided to go over to McDonald's
to eat and hang out for a while. We saw Eric Duerr there, so we
sat around for quite a while talking and having a great time.
Erin left, so Sarah and I sat for a while more to talk. We got
bored of that, so we came back to my place to hang out for a little
while, but before long she had to go back home. It's been an interesting
and tiring night, but I keep thinking I'm missing something. Oh
well.
A correction from last Thursday's log: "Jo Anna Jackson"
is really Joanna Jackson. Her name was incorrect in the yearbook
I had checked.

For the most part, today was a fun and interesting day. The only
class I went to the entire day was second period calculus, and
Mrs. Heflin wasn't even there, so we didn't do anything. I didn't
really have much to do in the way of helping with club pictures,
but it was more fun than regular class. I sat up there and watched
all sorts of different people come in for all the different clubs.
We all got to fool around and just have a good time while we were
up there. During first lunch I got to run around and see all the
people I never get to see during regular class schedules. I went
over and stole Rachel Trusty's purse and ran around the Commons
with it. After a little while she chased after me, but I just
kept running around. I didn't eat lunch, but I wasn't really hungry
anyway. I was running around having a good time and I just never
felt like going through the line to get food. Cassie Hilgerson
came through to take several club pictures, so she came over to
talk any time she was around. During 6th period she came up just
to visit some more, so we sat at a table and just talked about
random things that came to our minds. A little while before the
end of the period I walked her back to her class. We and a couple
other people in her class stopped at the bottom of the stairwell
to talk for a bit. I hadn't been feeling so great for a little
while, so just out of the blue Cassie gave me a little peck on
the cheek to cheer me up. It's not every day that something like
that happens. After that I went back upstairs and we finished
club pictures, so we all went down to the journalism room with
the photography students. We had a bunch of fun down there until
school was out. I went back up and walked around a bit with Rachel
Trusty, and then went out to find Cassie again. After I found
her, we talked for a bit until her mom came to pick her up. Then
I went back inside and talked to Rachel a bit more until my sister
decided it was time to go home. After school I laid around barely
able to stay awake. I think it's time for some real sleep now.

Today was another somewhat slow day as far as classes went. We
didn't do much in any of my classes. I spent most of 5th journalism
out of class. I followed Brandon Vaughn around for a little while
because he was taking some pictures of random classes doing things.
First we dropped in on physiology and watched people play with
dead rats. Then we went up to the stage to check out what drama
was doing. They had some seniors from last year return for some
activities, and they gave quite a show of games. Cassie Hilgerson
came over and stood next to me to watch the show and talk a bit.
Eventually she got called up to the stage for one of the games
they were playing. It all looked quite fun. After that period
was over I went back down to the journalism room since I didn't
really have anywhere else to go. About halfway into the period
I was wandering the halls and caught Jo Anna Jackson running off
somewhere looking quite upset about something. After she came
by the second time I took her into the journalism room where there
wasn't a class that period and talked with her for a while. She
calmed down some and then went back to her class. The next period
in physics, several of us gathered around one table to work and
talk, so it turned out being quite fun. After school I went upstairs
and saw Cassie again, so we walked around for a bit. After she
headed on home, I started to come back in when I saw Rachel Trusty
and company heading towards the door. I walked her out to her
car to talk for a little while. After that I came home and life
got boring again. Tomorrow I get to wake up extra early and spend
the day helping with club pictures at school. Second period I'll
be going back to calculus so I don't miss too much, but then I'm
back up taking pictures for the rest of the day. It should prove
to be quite entertaining.

I woke up this morning at 6:00. I could have slept another 45
minutes or so, but my sister insisted on waking up at 6:00 and
playing her music loudly in her room next door. After laying in
bed with a twitch in my left eye from pure hatred for my sister,
I decided trying to go back to sleep was worthless and started
getting ready for school. We didn't do much in any of my classes,
so it was a nice day to get used to the school thing again. I'm
on the final stretch now. This is my last semester of regular
old public schooling. After this I take off into the world on
my own wings and such and such. It's a boring story, I know. After
laying around classes all day, it was finally time to go home.
Rachel Trusty was kind enough to let me have the "divine
privilege" of walking her to her car. That didn't last too
long, but it was quite interesting when Beth Scott's boyfriend,
Josh Whitlow, came out with a dead duck. I'm still not quite sure
why he had it, but I refuse to ask. After that bit of excitement
I gave Brian Connerly a ride home and then headed home myself.
Right before I hopped into bed I figured I should check my Hotmail
account, since it had 20 new messages (18 of which were spam).
To my absolute excitement and glee, I found an E-Mail from someone
I didn't know. This would be my third fan, unless of course this
is just the Hotmail account of one of the other two kind people
that messaged me on AOL Instant Messenger a couple days ago. I
can barely contain myself. I'm so happy. I know how all this information
must have you all on the edges of your seats in excitement, but
today's story must come to an end. Goodnight, my faithful readers.

I'm having to write today's log a little earlier than I'm used
to, on account of school starts back up tomorrow and must get
my beauty sleep. Today was one final "lay around the house"
day before it's back to the grindstone tomorrow. I got a Christmas
postcard from a friend of mine in Sweden. Now I feel bad because
I didn't send her anything. I'll have to think of something quickly.
This evening I got another message on AOL Instant messenger. This
time it was a friend of the girl that messaged me yesterday. He
said she was freaking out because I mentioned my conversation
with her in yesterday's log. I figure if I can freak her out,
I can freak this guy out too by mentioning our conversation. I
seem to remember something about mopery and a light bulb in our
conversation, but there's no sense in going into great detail.
After that brief conversation, I went to my aunt's house to get
a haircut. My cousin Randy and I played with some Legos while
we waited for my aunt's shop to warm up. That's about all that
happened today. Time for some rest.

1-1-01
Happy friggin new year, everyone. As I mentioned in yesterday's
log (now on the history page), I didn't get to go to Sarah Hindsman's
party last night. For once in my life I actually had somewhere
that I wanted to go on new year's eve, but couldn't because of
some stupid snow. To make things even better, school starts back
up in two days. I just can't wait. On a lighter note, not long
after I woke up this morning I got a message from someone on AOL
Instant messenger. We talked for a while about random things such
as licorice and this web page. She explained how she and her friend
keep up with my daily ramblings. I've got the beginnings of a
fan club. Now all I need are some T-shirts to give away and I'll
be in business. Move over, Yahoo!, because the Galloping Cow is
on a roll!
Other than that, nothing happened today. I just spent all day
laying around the house since I had nothing better to do. My chat
this morning and writing today's date (01-01-01) were the high
points of my day. This year and the next 11 years to come are
the only years that have dates like that. It's strange what kinds
of things you can think of when you have nothing better to do.
I've been talking to Kasey Garrison about random things. Kasey
Garrison said Kasey Garrison was looking at this page, so I think
I'll try and get Kasey Garrison's attention by saying Kasey Garrison's
name in today's log at least 5 times. Now that I've achieved that
goal, I can go to bed. Good night everyone.
