Summer’s Ending

I don’t know why I’m staying up so late and having so much trouble getting up early lately. I tried waking up early today, but was way too exhausted and ended up sleeping until the afternoon.

I watched Nerve before going to my parents’ house for a curry dinner. Dad and I covered the pool, then Mom had me go in and eat while they cleaned up outside. After I ate, I came back home and played PUBG with the guys until pretty late, but the rest of the internet is what kept me up until nearly 3AM.

I can feel the season changing, but nothing else.

Work work work work work

Today was the day for accomplishing work.

We started out building Chromebook carts and scrap pallets for pickup, then went to Fat Daddy’s for lunch. I destroyed a BBQ spud without any trouble, then we came back to the junior high and split up for cable runs and a sound system relocation. It felt great to have people on board to actually do things.

After work, Jesica was supposed to come by so we could go to Conway for dinner, but she ended up ditching without saying anything. I kind of appreciated the time to relax at home, though. I got some PUBG in, and ate some leftover nachos.

Most importantly, I’m almost through with this hard candy I bought in 2004.

The Mexicity

I inadvertently avoided working too hard this morning until lunch when Allen and I went to Taco Villa. I ate way too much, then tried to make something of myself at the junior high in the afternoon. Jesica called and said she would be passing through and wanted to visit, so after work I met her at Morello’s for a shrimp chimichanga. It was there that I met her klepto side as she took her whole bowl of jalapeños and stuffed it into her takeout container.

When I finally made it home, Josh and I lost at some Rocket League until bedtime. Tomorrow it’s my team day, and hopefully I can make something of it.

I gotta remember to forget you.

Razing Order

I forgot about a meeting this morning for testing. I had it on my calendar, but I have so many things on my calendar that I don’t pay close attention to them any more. I’ll have to remember to set reminders in the future.

I worked up enough of an appetite by lunch that I went to Arby’s, then met Ben and Ryan at the junior high where they would help me run cables and replace WAPs. I was super appreciative of the help, but disappointed in myself for not having a better game plan in place. Granted, having the help in the middle of the week was a huge surprise, but I should have been more organized. This is why I can’t have nice things.

After work, I went to my parents’ for some leftover pan-fried chicken. I didn’t feel full, but I knew I ate too much.

When I finally got home, I decided to join up for some games, but ended up getting teamkilled by a sour Keno, then aggravated at a Johnny that forgot to take his don’t-be-an-asshole medicine.

Today’s words are “willpower” and “order.”

Like a Boss

I felt a little scattered today at work. I ended up working through most of lunch, then went to the revenue office to renew the registration on my sailboat. It was a little over a year past expiration, and instead of getting a new three year registration, they charged full price for the “remainder” of the three years I would have had if I had renewed on time, which makes no sense for a boat that was completely out of use. Unfortunately, it’s the government, so I don’t think you just ask for a supervisor to verify the process.

In the afternoon, Ben came by the junior high to help me out, so we hung a touch TV, then split up so he could hang WAPs and I could replace a teacher machine. He says he’s coming around tomorrow afternoon as well, and I’m excited to have someone there to help me actually accomplish something.

After work, I stopped by my parents’ house for a little dinner, then came home and watched Independence Day: Resurgence. The 3D was pretty great, and I ended up staying awake to finish it. I had too much trouble getting out of bed this morning though, so I really need some sleep somehow.

This one is definitely bigger than the last one!

What is time, even?

Today didn’t even really seem like a day. I don’t know what it was about it.

Wholly unremarkable.

I had a small sandwich at Firehouse for like nine bucks, and it was the smallest sandwich I could possibly imagine ever in my life. Like comically small. But with a clown-sized medium drink. I don’t want to be in this backward-assed country any more.

After work, I stopped by my parents’ for some leftovers, then came home and played a few rounds of Overwatch before losing the rest of my evening to the internet.

I’ve second-guessed the day of the week three times today, and it’s only the beginning of the week.

Grounded

I got up this morning to prep for sailing, then realized in the shower that the boat registration had expired. It would have been a fair day to sail, too. Not too windy, but not dead calm. Plenty of time to ease back into our sea legs.

I ended up going to my parents’ house to try and at least clean and set up the boat, and try out the trailer hitch. Everything came together pretty smoothly, so once I’m legal again, things should work quite well. I just need to practice some proper knots.

After finishing up some spring rolls for dinner there, I came home and watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I thought it was a fantastic movie, and it kind of reminded me of myself, only without the daydreaming so much. My visions are more vague, with general malcontent. Maybe some day, though.

Perhaps I can contact you, possibly through my poetry falcon.

Not Remotely Time-Saving

I woke up really late today, then spent most of the afternoon configuring my Harmony remote for my new TV and home theater receiver. At this point, I have spent more time configuring my universal remote than I have spent using regular remote controls in my entire life. It’s ridiculously complicated, and needlessly slow to configure the thing, but it sure is cool to be able to control everything with one device, even if it is a bit clunky at times.

Late in the evening, I went to my parents’ house for some eggplant soup and to try and watch Con Man on SyFy. I didn’t last too long, because I had forgotten how terrible of an experience television commercials are. The “episodes” are only like 10 minutes long, and I couldn’t even make it through one whole episode before getting multiple commercials.

Ludicrous.

Tomorrow, we sail!

Solo in All Things

I got really frustrated with my team at work today. I’ve been asking for over two weeks to help run over 15 new network lines, and not a single one of them wanted to help. Nothing about the teacher deployment has gone even remotely the way that I would have liked, and I’m incredibly aggravated by it.

After work, I came home and played some PUBG until Johnny rage quit, then played The Escapists 2 with Aaron until I was too drunk and tired to go on.

Old computer games couldn’t be won. They just got harder and faster until you died. Just like real life.

Don’t Trust Them

My deployment of teacher machines slowed down today because of the tools that are supposed to be there to help me. I’ve got an idea to set up a bunch of imaging stations in my office, but that will have to wait until this is done. I skipped lunch and worked a bit late again, then had more leftover spring rolls at my parents’ house. I just ate and left, though, so I could have some time at home before dark. There, it was PUBG with the gang before bed.

They come at you, attacking with their teeth, and their eyes.. and hair…
