Grounded

I got up this morning to prep for sailing, then realized in the shower that the boat registration had expired. It would have been a fair day to sail, too. Not too windy, but not dead calm. Plenty of time to ease back into our sea legs.

I ended up going to my parents’ house to try and at least clean and set up the boat, and try out the trailer hitch. Everything came together pretty smoothly, so once I’m legal again, things should work quite well. I just need to practice some proper knots.

After finishing up some spring rolls for dinner there, I came home and watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I thought it was a fantastic movie, and it kind of reminded me of myself, only without the daydreaming so much. My visions are more vague, with general malcontent. Maybe some day, though.

Perhaps I can contact you, possibly through my poetry falcon.

Not Remotely Time-Saving

I woke up really late today, then spent most of the afternoon configuring my Harmony remote for my new TV and home theater receiver. At this point, I have spent more time configuring my universal remote than I have spent using regular remote controls in my entire life. It’s ridiculously complicated, and needlessly slow to configure the thing, but it sure is cool to be able to control everything with one device, even if it is a bit clunky at times.

Late in the evening, I went to my parents’ house for some eggplant soup and to try and watch Con Man on SyFy. I didn’t last too long, because I had forgotten how terrible of an experience television commercials are. The “episodes” are only like 10 minutes long, and I couldn’t even make it through one whole episode before getting multiple commercials.

Ludicrous.

Tomorrow, we sail!

Solo in All Things

I got really frustrated with my team at work today. I’ve been asking for over two weeks to help run over 15 new network lines, and not a single one of them wanted to help. Nothing about the teacher deployment has gone even remotely the way that I would have liked, and I’m incredibly aggravated by it.

After work, I came home and played some PUBG until Johnny rage quit, then played The Escapists 2 with Aaron until I was too drunk and tired to go on.

Old computer games couldn’t be won. They just got harder and faster until you died. Just like real life.

Don’t Trust Them

My deployment of teacher machines slowed down today because of the tools that are supposed to be there to help me. I’ve got an idea to set up a bunch of imaging stations in my office, but that will have to wait until this is done. I skipped lunch and worked a bit late again, then had more leftover spring rolls at my parents’ house. I just ate and left, though, so I could have some time at home before dark. There, it was PUBG with the gang before bed.

They come at you, attacking with their teeth, and their eyes.. and hair…

Fall Rolls

I finally got some teacher computers deployed for real today. I’ve got an actual system. Sort of. Nobody’s eating together, so it’s been Soylent or skip for me. Plus working late. I guess it gives my life purpose or something.

After I finally left, I went to my parents’ house for leftover spring rolls. I can still feel the hot peppers burning in my belly. It’s kind of weird and tingly. It was a cool ride home. It sure got cool fast. Must be the hurricanes. Too bad it’s not windy enough to sail.

When I finally got home, I played some Overwatch with Keno, then PUBG with him, Johnny, and Jack. It went okay.

There’s a little black spot on the sun today.

Soylent Afternoon

I had quite a bit of trouble getting out of bed this morning, so I ended up skipping half of my morning routine for a bit more sleep. Chai Soylent for breakfast, then I skipped going out for lunch and had a Cacao Soylent in the early afternoon. I worked a couple extra hours, then had spring rolls with my parents.

That’s a lot of blood…

What are Traditions: Labor Day 2017

I managed to wake up before noon today, which was my crowning achievement.

I played The Escapists 2 with Johnny and Aaron, then some PUBG with a mix of the gang.

In the evening, I went to my parents’ house to help my dad put together a display case. All I could think was how heavy the glass was, and how I’ll probably have to be the one to take it apart in the end.

Frustration, anger, and resentment.

Extra Most Bestest

I woke up this morning around noon and decided to go get an Extra Most Bestest pepperoni pizza from Little Caesar’s. I passed Jacob driving the opposite direction on the way home and got the twitches, so I tried eating my way out of it once I got home.

After that, I strapped in for a few rounds of PUBG with Johnny, Aaron, and TJ, and Josh. The first round was really embarrassing. The second round went better, but I probably could have won it for us if I had thought about throwing a grenade. I really feel like grenades need work in this game. There was some Rocket League thrown in, and Johnny and I tried out The Escapists 2.

That basically sums up the whole day. At some point in the afternoon I started drinking vanilla cream ales from the Blackhorse Brewery, and wrapped up the night about the same way.

I’ve been looking for a way out.

Impromptu MOOvie Night: Deadfall

This morning I played a solo game of PUBG, then eventually joined up with Johnny and Keno. After a while, Keno had to go and Aaron joined in. We played a couple more games, then split up. I wasted most of my day frying a bunch of rice up with some sliced hot dogs.

Josh got on late in the evening and played Rocket League with Johnny and me, but then Mayra texted back and said she and Armando would come over to watch a movie. We watched Deadfall. I can’t remember where I had heard of it originally. It may have been a trailer or a recommendation from someone. I think the cast caught my eye, so I added it to my watch list. I enjoyed the story, but it was a bit weird at times.

Pistol vision in my hands, I want to see my blood across the sand.

Chicken Dinny!

Today was pretty chill at work. We were supposed to run a bunch of cable, but I only ended up helping with one run across a tiny hallway. We even got to leave work over an hour early, but I ended up sticking around just for the company.

After work, I watched Ant Man in spectacular 3D, then played some PUBG with Keno, Johnny, and Jack. We won two games, and I actually survived to the end of the second win.

This is a three day weekend, but it’s looking like I don’t really have anything going on, which is pretty normal I guess. I kind of wanted to go to Magic Springs, but that’s probably not happening. Not windy enough to sail. Maybe it’s time to get the racing drone back out.

Thoughts arrive like butterflies.
