Tuna Train

I got out a little bit late this morning and didn’t have time for breakfast, and I don’t think I had a Soylent ready in the fridge. Luckily there were some gross looking donuts left over in the breakroom from earlier in the week, so I had a couple of those, rolled around in their melty chocolate sauce. I was up and around quite a bit for a while, which was nice. At one point, I took Heaven out to her new office and got a monitor set up for her, but I’ll take her computer out later. They decided to keep the printer in the other room, so I’ll be running what I came to know as a “Dave-O extender” on the outside of the shipping container until it eventually fails and I have to run a new line from the switch.

I really wanted something different for lunch, so I went to Chopsticks, then made it back in time for our afternoon meeting with Aptean. I think I know enough now to feel pretty confident in what they’re doing, but who knows. I felt busy all afternoon as well, but I didn’t feel like I had much to show for it. I still felt so far behind.

Traffic was slow and terrible when we left, but we eventually made it home. Summer had a long, and pretty bad day at work, but that was no surprise. She got home shortly after we did, and then we had to go to the train depot to watch the Tech band play part of their new marching set. Summer wanted to sit right in the middle of it, but I knew Muad’Dib wouldn’t be able to handle it. The sun was unbearably hot anyway, so we stood over by the conductor statue. He was just about as perfect as we could have expected, and got lots of smiles and pets. He was hot, though. A train came by, perfectly timed and blowing its horn, almost as if it was in response to the band’s tuning note.

We got to see Eaddie afterward, but then headed home shortly after that. It was too hot and miserable to do anything else. After cooling down a bit, I watched the first half of A Dog’s Purpose, which didn’t seem great. I had kind of gotten the feeling that it wouldn’t be for me when I tried watching it before, but I got a little bit into it in spite of its cheesiness. I thought Summer would come back out to watch it with me, but she only sat down briefly before going to bed. I had to do the same though, since she has a run in Fort Smith in the morning.

It’s such a good vibration!
