Starbucks had a deal, so I stopped in to grab a wrap on the way out of town. They were out of sriracha, which made the fact that nobody greeted me either time I walked into the store feel that much worse. We got to work and I jumped into my Dell SSO project briefly, but then switched gears to figure out the Admin By Request deployment. Evidently it just let people do whatever they want by default, but I figured out how to require authorization pretty quickly.
Casey’s had a surprise deal on wings, so I grabbed an order of boneless and bone-in, which were both heavily breaded, but still reasonably good. We ate that in my office, and continued tinkering with a desktop candidate for Heaven until it was time to leave.
The afternoon had been really quiet, so it was a pretty relaxing ride home. Summer went home early with a multi-day headache. I asked if she wanted to assemble a side table that had just been delivered, with the intention of putting it by the garage door for all the dog stuff, batteries, vallet, and other miscellany. She did eventually start that while I went to take Dad to the other house.
I had gotten an alert early in the day that there was a leak at the old house. Dad went over to investigate, and had eventually found the shutoff valve right by the house. Luckily, the water meter wrench I took him the other day included a petcock key that fit the handleless valve by the house. From the sound of it, though, we figure it’s in the yard somewhere. We left the water on at the curb to check for leaks later, and I dropped him back off at his house.
Summer was still working on the side table, so after it cooled down a bit, I took Muad’Dib for a run to my parents’ house. I started warming up the fish soup, we made it the long way around the block, and got back just in time to eat. We got home well after dark, took out the trash, broke down the recycling, and crashed.
