The Prank

It was just three of us there today. Still no group projects in the morning, and the afternoon was helping close work orders for Allen. I stayed late after work and finished stacking computers behind Kevin’s door. I even went as far as to hook most of them up so they would be blowing warm air at him as he opens the door. To top it all off, I set up a working computer with monitor, keyboard, and mouse on top. As I left, I leaned the keyboard and mouse against the door so they would fall out as soon as he opens the door.

Mom texted earlier and said she thought something blew up in her home theater system, so I stopped by there to check things out. I couldn’t tell that anything was wrong with the speakers I gave her, so I left there and headed home for the evening. Summer came by and read a book for work while I played some PUBG with the guys.

I’m ready for a vacation now that everyone else’s is almost over.

The Setup

I woke up feeling awful this morning, and ended up snoozing an extra half hour. Ben was back, but still nobody had anything for me to do, so I spent all day by myself. We all went to Old South for lunch, and I had their breaded and fried pork chop. I’ve still never had a bad meal there, but the service was quite a bit slower than usual. They were packed though, so we weren’t horribly surprised.

I stayed late and started arranging computers behind Kevin’s door as payback for when he hid in my office and scared me. I wanted to go for a scare, but the opportunity to wall off his office with old computers won’t come around again for a while. It won’t be quite as solid as I had originally hoped, but I think it’ll still look pretty good.

From there, I went to get some gas, then stopped by Summer’s for a while before heading to my parents’ for dinner. Mother has ridiculous food problems whereby she makes too much and throws it all away.

When I got home, I played a few rounds of PUBG with the boys until bedtime.

Don’t get too comfortable.

Spogooter

Perhaps surprisingly, nobody was in the mood to accomplish much today. Half of them were just there waiting to hear if we would get to leave for a half day. Even Dale wasn’t in much of a rush to get anything done.

I spent all morning running cable and cleaning up the existing wiring in a classroom. We met at Morelos for lunch, where I had some killer lunch fajitas.

The afternoon was spent getting intimate with my junior high yearbook lab. I didn’t even finish, but at least I have a decent idea of how I want to arrange the new computers. Assuming everyone else is in the same mood tomorrow, I ought to be able to finish it then.

After work, I went to Summer’s to visit for a while. She made spaghetti, and Autumn had a friend over for the night, so we played a game of Bingo. I’ve never felt so old and domesticated. It went okay.

Once I got home, I played a game of PUBG with Josh and Clint. I did okay.

Tastes like Heaven; Burns like Hell

The Gangover

The cats woke everyone up this morning. It was a lazy day of cold pizza, The Jackbox Party Pack, and Life of Pi. It really is an incredible movie.

I took everyone home after dark and hung out there for a little while before heading back home so I could get back to the slow grind at work in the morning.

My life is all games.

What are Traditions: New Year’s Eve 2017

I spent most of the afternoon cleaning house in case anyone wanted to come over for New Year’s Eve. I had originally planned to have a fire, but it was too cold and windy for that. We decided to get some pizza and stay in for a movie instead. Summer and the girls were the only ones that wanted to do anything, so I picked them up along with some Domino’s to watch a movie before counting down to the new year. I had some trouble with our first movie choice, and somehow we settled on Leonardo DiCaprio’s Romeo and Juliet while we ate. Then we played some music around midnight, and ended the night with The Jungle Book.

Everyone pretty well passed out, so I guess it was a success.

Good luck, 2018…

Dinner and a Movie

I slept in a bit today, then got up to get ready for another trip to Conway with Summer. We wanted to catch the new Jumanji movie in the afternoon before a little shopping and a couple of steaks.

The movie was pretty great. It definitely had a different feel to it, but I liked how it pulled straight from the old movie and made it something new. I didn’t realize it, but Summer said it was her first 3D movie. She seemed to really enjoy it. I made the mistake of getting up near the end of the movie to refill the popcorn and my drink, and ended up missing the climax, but I imagine I’ll get the movie for home in 3D once it’s available.

After the movie, we went to the new shopping center on Dave Ward to see what was there. We stopped in the PetCo there, and it seemed like all the animals were in relatively poor health, which was surprising considering the neighborhood. After leaving there, we stopped by Old Navy and grabbed a few things. I returned a defective pair of jeans and grabbed a new sport coat, and by that time we were ready for dinner at Logan’s.

Once we finished eating, we headed straight back toward home, stopping at Blackwell to restock before New Year’s Eve tomorrow. Then when we got back home, we watched Kevin Hart’s What Now on Netflix. He was better in the movie.

She understands the intent.

First and Last

This morning was productive for me. Gary babysat me while I played around in some of our network switches, and I think most of what I was doing stuck with me. At least I should have log files if I get lost in the future.

After work, I went to my parents’ house for lunch. Dad had taken Mom some food for her lunch break and got back home just after I finished my taco salad. I got my Walkera Runner 250 spinning, but it was too cold to be outside flying. I managed to call a cat from across the yard while I was inside the dining room, impressive to the point that I felt like maybe I’ve missed a personal calling somewhere. Nowhere useful, but a calling nonetheless.

From there, I went to Summer’s and crushed them in a flip-floppy game of Monopoly. We picked up some Whatta-Burger for dinner, then I finished the evening dead last in a game of Sorry. Bác Vân called and offered eggrolls, so I took some to share with Becky, then came home for some PUBG with Josh, Clint, and Aaron. I even contributed.

Don’t Be a Chicken Dinner

I picked up some jalapeño kolaches for the four of us at work this morning. It went over pretty well, but nobody wanted to do anything together. Instead, I went to the junior high and completed the projector inventory.

I left at lunchtime and played some Overwatch until Summer finished up at the gym, and then picked up some Zaxby’s before heading back home to meet up with Josh. We watched Bo Burnham’s Make Happy, then I ran Summer home before coming back and Chromecast and Chilling with Josh.

Eventually Josh went home so we could play some PUBG with Clint and Aaron. I made second place once, but before that I spent some time on the phone with Sprint to try and help Josh unlock an Essential Phone he picked up from someone else, but they were aggravatingly difficult to communicate with. I wasn’t even calling for anything difficult, and I was aggravated to the point of wanting to drop their service. Everything is awful.

I could get used to not working…

Soul Crusher

I woke up early this afternoon super hungry, so I went to my parents’ house to find some leftovers. I had forgotten they had to go back to work today, but Julie and Andy were there with a surprise replacement of the garage overhead lights. I stuffed a couple rolls with ham and turkey down my gullet, then came back home to play some Overwatch and shower.

Once my parents got home from work, I went and had dinner, then went to Summer’s to play a game of Monopoly. Nothing makes me happier than extinguishing that tiny glimmering light of hope in someone’s eyes as they make their way around the gauntlet. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as maniacally as Summer though, as she left us all cold and desperate in the wake of her Trumpian victory.

Now the trick is to fall asleep as quickly as possible so I can go to work in the morning.

Burger? I hardly know ‘er!

I spent most of the morning earning winter loot boxes in Overwatch. Around 11 o’clock, Mom asked if anyone was awake and said she was preparing chow mein, so I gave her three hours before heading over there to eat. She was still preparing it, and at that point I still needed to take a shower and wasn’t in the mood to wait, so I left.

After my shower, I found myself in a mood, but Summer invited me over to grill burgers. We ate, played some Bingo, then watched The Rocketeer. One more day, then it’s back to work for a couple half days.

Oh, slow down. I think this shit is killing your brain.
